[Scene]
Alex dances beside a barbecue on a tiny Eastern European concrete balcony. He wears a white ribbed tank top, gray checked shorts, gray socks and blue slippers. A cigarette is in his left hand and a two-liter plastic beer bottle in his right. Mila, an adult woman in a brown floral summer dress and sandals, approaches from the apartment carrying a huge metal platter of meat. A tabby cat starts indoors. Rusty decorative iron railings, a white glazed apartment door, small metal barbecue and cheap radio playing lively instrumental Romani brass-and-accordion music. Warm, slightly grainy late-afternoon documentary photography.
[Space and camera]
The apartment floor and permanent doorway threshold are part of the main building. The balcony breaks outside the facade plane. The cat stays behind that break line on the solid interior threshold. A bolted camera opposite the balcony holds one fixed medium-wide composition showing the doorway, entire slab and some wall below it. Position, angle and focal length stay constant throughout. The camera is motionless; the people, clothing, props and debris move continuously. Ground impact is below the frame.
[Physical performance]
Alex and Mila continually shift weight, breathe, blink and react. Their knees, hips, shoulders and hands articulate independently. When the floor tips, feet skid, knees bend and torsos pitch. Arms reach reflexively for balance. During the fall, their poses continue changing, clothing ripples and released objects tumble separately under gravity.
[Stage 1 | 00:00-00:06]
Alex dances loosely to the radio, takes a puff and exhales while his shoulders and feet keep moving. The cigarette stays left and the beer bottle right. Food sizzles beneath the music.
[Stage 2 | 00:06-00:12]
Alex takes a drink while gently bouncing his knees, lowers the bottle and resumes dancing. Mila appears in the doorway with the heavy meat platter, adjusting her hands beneath its weight as she approaches.
[Stage 3 | 00:12-00:18]
Mila steps onto the balcony and a sharp crack travels along its wall attachment. Alex takes a small balancing step, bends his knees and looks down. Mila shifts her feet and moves the platter to counterbalance the sagging floor. Both keep responding physically as the crack widens.
[Stage 4 | 00:18-00:24]
The tabby cat walks from indoors to the permanent threshold, all four paws safely behind the break line, and gives one clear meow. Alex continues short corrective steps. Mila bends her knees and tilts the platter to keep its contents balanced. A deeper crack sounds as the slab tips outward.
[Stage 5 | 00:24-00:30]
The slab tips, separates and falls. Alex's slippers skid, his knees buckle and his torso pitches; his left arm swings upward for balance. The beer bottle slips from his right hand and tumbles independently. Mila's feet lose contact, her legs bend and her arms reach as the platter tips out of her hands, its meat sliding across the metal. Both bodies continue actively changing pose as they descend out of the fixed frame, separately from the rotating slab and props. Their clothes flutter throughout the visible fall. A crash sounds below and the falling radio becomes distant. End on the intact doorway and safe cat, which turns its head downward and flicks an ear while its paws remain on the solid threshold.
[Continuity]
One reference-accurate Alex, one Mila and one cat. Stable outfits and building geometry, continuously articulated people and independently moving props. The cat stays with the main building. Non-graphic slapstick, ending above the unseen impact level.
