Japanese Art Class Face Reveal

Fonte
A grotesque and unsettling art lesson in a Japanese school — 20 second live-action supernatural horror short

There are no reference images. Every person below must be built from words alone.

ONE LINE: discover an already-wrong Japanese high-school art room through short shots at different distances; the finished drawings become the pupils' actual faces, then the lesson ends.

SPACE: blackboard at the front, rainy windows along the left wall, doorway at the rear right. Six scarred wooden desks in two rows of three, the rear row staggered sideways by half a desk width. Desks and chairs are separate objects.

PUPILS: six of them, all in Japanese high-school uniforms with black hair in six different styles. Their faces are oval with a clear jawline, dark brown eyes with faint double lids, small noses with low bridges, thin pale lips, and real skin with visible pores — never doll-smooth. The face set in the first cut carries through every later cut. The six sets of features differ slightly from one another and no two pupils share a face.

POSES: front-left, bob-haired girl A sits with her torso bent nearly at a right angle to her left. Front-center, short-haired boy B is folded backward over the backrest of his sideways chair, his upside-down head hanging toward the center aisle at seat height. Both feet stay planted; his right arm runs around the desktop edge to his notebook. Front-right, long-haired girl C has an upright torso and a neck bent ninety degrees to her right. The three rear pupils kneel on their chair seats with torsos twisted and bent toward their desks, their heads appearing higher in the gaps above the front row. Each pupil pins one notebook with the left hand and holds a pencil in the right. These are established poses at first appearance and persist across every blackout. Each hand connects to its own body.

TEACHER: one man in a gray suit. His torso faces the blackboard but his neck is already turned 180 degrees backward. His frontal face appears above the BACK of his jacket, chin toward his back. From first appearance to the end he watches the class in this pose. This is one already-reversed neck and one face, not an animation of a normal neck turning. His right hand holds a short piece of chalk. His face is lean and squarish, eyes narrow and dark, nose straight and long, lips thin and grayish, skin pale with visible lines.

THE DRAWINGS: the pupils draw faces made of lines in their notebooks — dense overlapping black pencil scratch marks, two hollow black eye sockets, and a broad grin whose teeth read as a grid of crossing lines. A draws large round sockets, B elongated sockets, C one socket larger than the other. The other three draw the same motif in different proportions. Notebook pages carry faint ruling only; the blackboard holds face sketches and chalk smears. No readable lettering appears anywhere in frame — the drawings are faces built from lines, not text.

LOOK: all shots share the same color grade and rough film texture; only the specified outages change illumination. Rough high-speed 35mm film texture: irregular living grain in shadows and skin, slight optical softness, short halation around the bright fluorescent tubes. Deep blacks still reveal hand-cloth-wood contact. Light comes from dirty yellow-green overhead fluorescents and weak gray-blue sidelight from the rainy windows. Window light stays on; ONLY the overhead tubes switch off and on at 6.0–6.2, 8.8–9.0 and 11.3–11.5 seconds. Exactly these three outages; the tubes stay lit from 11.5 seconds to the end. During each outage, under-desk shadows deepen while window reflections on the worn damp green floor and the outlines of bodies remain. Every cut is one continuous piece shot on the same camera, the colour and grain the same throughout. Layered depth, worn materials, low saturation — not evenly beautified faces or bright, flat auto-exposure.

SOUND: a low dissonant score tightens with the scratching rhythm. Do not automatically duck the whole score for every location sound. Pencil scratches follow the visible hands and continue through the outages. Writing ends at 12.0 seconds. The largest brief sound impact accompanies the face reveal at 15.4, then decays. Nobody speaks except the one Japanese line assigned below.

(0:00.0–0:01.6) The teacher draws an eye socket on the blackboard with his right-hand chalk while watching the pupils behind him with his reversed face. Show jacket back, chin and reversed neck together. A near desk edge and drawing hand, contorted midground pupils and the distant blackboard form separate depth layers. Window sidelight grazes one side of his neck; overhead light presses across the shoulders. Several pencils scratch harshly. Rear three-quarter Static Medium Wide, 35mm lens.

(0:01.6–0:02.6) A presses her right-hand pencil into the round eye socket on her notebook. Her left hand pins the page as graphite dust gathers beneath her fingers. Reveal grooves in the wooden desktop and paper fibers. Static Extreme Close-up, 85mm lens.

(0:02.6–0:04.0) A keeps her torso bent left, her own still-normal face lowered beside the notebook, and continues drawing. Her bob brushes the desktop; her right shoulder jerks once. Show the sideways-folded body and both connected arms together. Rear pupils' hands move independently. Side-aisle Medium, Track Right, 50mm lens.

(0:04.0–0:05.4) B draws while folded backward over his sideways chair. Read his upside-down still-normal face hanging toward the aisle, uniform compressed against the backrest, both shoes on the floor and the right arm reaching around to the desktop in one frame. His left hand holds the notebook edge while his right scratches an elongated socket. Window light separates chair legs and the neck's outline. Floor-level Low Medium Wide, Static, 28mm lens.

(0:05.4–0:06.6) All six pupils keep their individually contorted bodies in place while their drawing hands accelerate. Near desk legs, midground bodies and the distant teacher overlap in depth. All overhead tubes switch off at 6.0 seconds; window-lit outlines remain. Scratching does not stop. At 6.2, the tubes relight the same people, positions and contortions. Wide through a foreground doorframe, short Dolly Forward, 28mm lens.

(0:06.6–0:07.6) The teacher adds vertical chalk strokes inside the blackboard grin with his right hand. Torso toward the board, reversed face still toward the pupils. Keep neck-to-jacket-back continuity visible. Chalk dust falls below his right hand; chalk friction slices through the pencil rhythm. Rear three-quarter Static Medium Close-up, 50mm lens.

(0:07.6–0:08.5) A adds a horizontal line across the broad mouth, building the grid of teeth. Read the large round sockets and her right hand together. Scratching moves close in the mix as the low score's pulse quickens. Static Overhead Close-up, 85mm lens.

(0:08.5–0:09.4) C keeps her neck bent right while her right hand deepens the larger eye socket. Her still-normal face, notebook and connected hand share the frame. At 8.8 seconds the tubes go off, leaving gray-blue light on window-side hair; at 9.0 they relight the same pose and drawing. Static Medium Close-up, 50mm lens.

(0:09.4–0:10.7) Front-row A, B and C each give one brief shoulder shudder, traveling left to right, but maintain their grotesque base poses and drawing. Behind them, three pairs of hands work harder. Chair feet creak under pressure above cold window reflections on the floor. The whole classroom seems caught in one tightening rhythm. Center-aisle Low Wide, Track Left, 28mm lens.

(0:10.7–0:12.0) A digs a hard outline around the nearly finished portrait. Her still-normal face shares the frame with C's bent neck farther behind. At 11.3 seconds the tubes go off; pencils and score continue. At 11.5 they relight A's same face and posture beside the darker drawing. Medium Close-up, short Dolly Forward, 50mm lens.

(0:12.0–0:13.5) At 12.0 seconds all six finish their last strokes and scratching stops together. From 12.0–12.7, each places the right-hand pencil on the desktop immediately to the right of their own notebook. Show the front three drawings' different round, elongated and asymmetrical sockets. From 12.7–13.5, the pupils take their notebooks in both hands. The tubes remain lit. High Angle Static Medium Wide over the front row, 35mm lens.

(0:13.5–0:15.0) All six lift their own notebooks with both hands, fully covering their own faces by 14.2 seconds. They do not straighten their bent bodies. B holds his notebook before his low, upside-down face, oriented to match it. The front three drawings read large at different heights. B's low face occupies the clear center aisle; the three rear drawings occupy staggered gaps above the front pupils' heads. The camera looks from the blackboard toward the back of the class; the rainy windows are screen-right in this reverse view. Dark desk legs divide the different face heights. The score narrows into a high held tension. Static Low Medium Wide, 35mm lens; retain this exact framing through the following interval.

(0:15.0–0:17.9) In the same framing, the pupils lower their notebooks, exposing their actual faces by 15.4 seconds. A has large round black sockets, B elongated sockets, C one larger socket, each with the grid teeth of their own drawing. The other three actual faces also resemble their respective drawings. These are deep hollow sockets in real skin and dimensional teeth inside mouths, not paper stuck to faces or flat printed masks. Hair, uniforms, bent postures and positions persist. The other five hold their notebooks below their chests. B lowers his notebook toward the floor and shifts it into the clear aisle space on screen-right with both hands, fully exposing his upside-down face. All six notebooks remain clear of the faces. At 15.4, one sharp string scrape and short low-frequency impact strike together. Give the revealed result a full 2.5 seconds to read. At 16.5, A exhales briefly through the teeth; the other pupils' chests rise slightly. Show drawings and actual faces together as the resonance sustains pressure. No cut or zoom; same Static Low Medium Wide.

(0:17.9–0:20.0) The teacher watches the class with the same already-reversed neck as at the beginning. Torso still toward the board, he places the right-hand chalk on the chalk ledge at 18.2 seconds. At 18.4–19.0, his backward-facing mouth calmly says 「終わり。」 and closes. Read the jacket BACK and the frontal face above it together. The rough chalk face remains beside him. From 19.0–20.0, fluorescent hum and fading resonance complete the lesson; the score does not build again. Same rear three-quarter Static Medium Close-up, 50mm lens. The pose and classroom remain through the final frame, then the film ends.

CONSISTENCY: one teacher and six pupils. Keep the same individual features, hair and uniforms, except that the pupils' faces are revealed at 15.4 seconds in the forms of their own drawings and stay that way. The teacher's reversed neck and the pupils' contorted bodies are intentional horror; do not normalize them. Do not accidentally duplicate heads, arms or people. No visible camera, crew or filming equipment in frame; no subtitles, logos, on-screen indicators or readable lettering.

FINISH: preserve film texture and physically layered light. Only the assigned Japanese line is spoken, once, by the teacher in its interval, with low, clear natural pronunciation, audible above the score. Do not substitute full-frame blur, beauty skin or digital glitches for horror. A complete independent 20-second film with its final line, action and sound decay finished.
