eBay Seller Integration

Connect your eBay seller account to Frevana by creating a developer app, collecting its credentials, and authorizing your seller account in your browser.

What You Need

Before you start, make sure you have:

  1. An eBay seller account.
  2. An eBay Developer account.
  3. Permission to create or manage eBay Developer applications.
  4. A Sandbox test user if you want to test in Sandbox.

Step 1: Go to eBay Developer

Open eBay Developer.

Sign in with your eBay account, or create a developer account.

Step 2: Open Application Keys

In the eBay Developer dashboard, open:

Application Keys

If you already have a suitable app, you can use it. Otherwise, create a new application.

note

Use an app that belongs to your business. Do not use another merchant's app credentials.

Step 3: Choose Environment

Choose one environment:

EnvironmentUse this forLogin used during authorization
SandboxTesting OAuth and API callseBay Sandbox test user
ProductionReal seller account dataYour real eBay seller account

Do not mix Sandbox and Production values.

Use values from the same environment only:

  • Sandbox Client ID + Sandbox Client Secret + Sandbox RuName + Sandbox test user
  • Production Client ID + Production Client Secret + Production RuName + real seller account

Step 4: Copy App Credentials

From the selected environment, copy:

Client ID
Client Secret
warning

Keep the Client Secret private. Do not post it in public channels or shared documents.

Step 5: Configure and Copy RuName

In the same eBay application and same environment, open the OAuth / user authorization settings.

Configure and copy the app's:

RuName

RuName must come from the same environment as your Client ID and Client Secret.

Step 6: Send the Setup Values to Frevana

Send Frevana these values:

Environment: sandbox or production
Marketplace ID: EBAY_US
Client ID: ...
Client Secret: ...
RuName: ...

Use the marketplace ID for the eBay marketplace you want to connect.

Common examples:

MarketplaceMarketplace ID
United StatesEBAY_US
United KingdomEBAY_GB
GermanyEBAY_DE
CanadaEBAY_CA
AustraliaEBAY_AU

Step 7: Authorize Seller Account

After you send the setup values, Frevana will generate an eBay authorization URL.

Open the authorization URL.

On that page:

  1. Sign in with the seller account for the selected environment.
  2. Review the requested access.
  3. Approve the connection.
  4. Copy the returned authorization code.
  5. Paste the authorization code back into Frevana.

For Sandbox, sign in with an eBay Sandbox test user.

For Production, sign in with your real eBay seller account.

Step 8: Verify Connection

Ask Frevana to verify the eBay Seller connection.

A successful setup should confirm:

  • Environment
  • Marketplace ID
  • Seller identity
  • Token refresh

Required OAuth Scopes

Use these scopes for eBay Seller:

https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope
https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/sell.inventory
https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/sell.fulfillment
https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/sell.finances
https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/sell.account

What You Can Ask Frevana After Setup

After the connection is complete, you can ask Frevana to:

  • List eBay inventory items.
  • Review offers and listing status.
  • Search recent orders.
  • Summarize order revenue.
  • Show finance transactions.
  • Review payouts, fees, refunds, and seller funds.
  • Check payment, fulfillment, and return policies.

Important Notes

Do not paste a short-lived User Token from the eBay Developer Portal.

Frevana needs:

Client ID
Client Secret
RuName
Authorization code from the generated authorization URL

The authorization code lets Frevana create a refresh token so the connection can keep working after short-lived access tokens expire.

eBay Inventory Model

eBay inventory works differently from a normal store product catalog.

Typical flow:

  1. Inventory Item
  2. Offer
  3. Published Listing

An inventory item is not always a live listing. A listing is created when an offer is published.

Publishing listings usually requires eBay business policies:

  • Payment policy
  • Fulfillment policy
  • Return policy
note

The first version of the eBay Seller integration is read-first. Listing publish, inventory updates, refunds, and shipping fulfillment creation should be confirmed before execution.
